Answer: START
This is the S Metapuzzle. There are six answers (in rounds 1 and 2) whose answers contain S words, corresponding to the six subsets of MCSP of size 2 or greater containing the letter S.
Cut out the device and assemble it into a cube. Each corner has a silhouetted image that appears undistorted when viewed directly along the cube diagonal. Two images are simply the words "CHOCOLATE" and "DOCUMENTARY", and the remaining six are affiliated with the six input S-words:
Image | Associated Word | Connection |
---|---|---|
bull | STOCK | Stock market, or livestock |
cross | SANTA | Christianity |
witch | SCARY | Halloween |
Norway | SLARTIBARTFAST | The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy |
football player | SUPER | Super Bowl |
triangle | SYMMETRIC | Symmetries are shown |
Next, extract the similarities of the associated words for each face: each face should be labelled by the letters common to the four words at its corners. This comes out to one letter for each of the five faces (the sixth is already correctly labelled by the empty set), and the letters spell the answer START across the original unfolded cube.
