We need your help—our Space Hunt song is too short! Help us add to it, and we will give you a free puzzle answer. To do so, you must write at least 15 points worth of new material. Points are determined as follows: first, every additional verse (two rhyming lines) is worth 1 point. Moreover, you can get extra points by including the following in your verses:
- The word janky (1 point)
- “Quotation marks” (1 point)
- The name of an actual space object (1 point per instance)
- The name of one of the puzzle hunt writers (1 point)
- The name of a Mathcamp class this summer (2 points)
- A cunning riddle (2 points)
- A complete sentence in the Game of Four, namely one where every word has at most four letters (2 points)
- A statement of a true and interesting mathematical theorem (2 points)
- A plot summary of a movie about space travel (2 points)
- A hand-drawn picture of someone wearing Space Pants, Space Shorts, a Space Dress, or some other Space Attire (3 points)
- An accurate or plausible explanation of the physics behind space travel (3 points)
- A proof of a true and interesting mathematical theorem (3 points)
When you have completed your additional verses, send them to mcpuzzlehunt@gmail.com, and we will verify that they accumulate sufficiently many points. For your reference, here is what was performed at kick-off:
