During the actual hunt, the Iron Cheer Challenge was an activity that teams could complete in order to get a free answer. Below are the instructions that teams received.
IRON CHEER CHALLENGE
Today we are having our IRON CHEER CHALLENGE! You will have 60 minutes to prepare a cheer routine. Your routine needs to satisfy the following:
- You need to involve at least half of the members of your squad.
- The routine needs to last at least 45 seconds.
- We need to deem you energetic and enthusiastic enough.
- You need to provide adequate music (we may request a specific type).
- We may also request your cheer (that is, the words) to be about a specific theme.
In addition, we will give you four more constraints. When you are ready to start the challenge, send someone to HQ. We will give you various extra constraints, and you will need to choose four among them. Then your 60 minutes will start to run. When you have prepared your routine and you are ready to perform, call HQ.
If you fail the challenge, you may try again, but you will have to start from scratch with a different set of contraints, and you need to wait until the 60 minutes have passed to receive your new set of constraints.
If you succeed, you will earn a free answer. The free answer can be used on any regular puzzle. To be used on a metapuzzle, you need to have solved more than half of the puzzles that feed onto that metapuzzle, and additional restrictions may apply. You can save the free answer and cash it at any time. Call HQ when you want to cash it.
Good luck!
