Your team presents the first round metapuzzle solution, DANZAHAROPOL. Oh no! Is Dan behind all the killings? We'd better call him...
Team member: Hey Dan, where are you now?
Dan: I'm near the fountain.
Team member: Can you stay there? There's been a disturbing answer to the round one metapuzzle.
Dan: Sure, I'll see you there.
You arrive at the fountain only to find no Dan. Instead, you see his cell phone. Right there in its phonebook is the number for Dan's minion! Through your skills of deception and impersonating Dan, you manage to arrange a meeting with the minion. You run there... only to find the minion gone. But there's a note leading you to another corner of campus...
You arrive and catch the minion. With your powers of intimidation, you finally convince the minion to tell you where Dan is. He's in his room. On the other side of campus. More running!
When you get to Dan's room, the door is unlocked but the closet is... shaking? Openning the door, you find Dan himself, stuffed into the closet. His arms and legs are tied together with blue tape which also covers his mouth and prevents him from talking. A sarong is thrown over his head. You untie a grateful Dan.
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you're here.
This is rather complicated, so I'm afraid it'll take me a while to explain. I'm afraid I've made a horrible mistake. A little while ago, I created for myself a Duplicator. I decided that I might have to do less work if only I had a clone that could do some of my work. Unfortunately, I miscalculated. My clone turned out to be... an evil clone!
My evil clone didn't like doing work, and he decided that Condylarth's coming would be nothing but more work for him. So he decided to kill her! Fortunately, Condylarth has been doing some temporal experiments lately and realized she might be killed. So she started writing the Puzzle Hunt you've been solving, to provide clues to her murder. You've just finished the first half, which identified the killer. Now, we must catch Evil Dan!
Evil Dan kidnapped me and turned my Duplicator into a Time Machine. He went back in time to kill Condylarth! But the Time Machine is still here, and you could follow him back... but I don't know what the fuel is!
Do not despair! All is not lost! But things are... even more complicated.
You see, Condylarth started to write a second set of puzzles which I think tells you what the fuel for the Time Machine is. Now, she never actually wrote the puzzles, she only left her notes. But that's okay because I'm going to write them for her. In fact, just a few minutes ago, I arrived from the future and left the second round puzzles for myself. Now we just need to find the puzzles my future self left for us...
You ransack Dan's room searching for the puzzles. Finally you find them underneath his mattress.
Good! Now go and solve the puzzles! We need to find out what the fuel is. And whatever you do, don't ask me to solve the puzzles for you! If I see them before I write them, then it'll cause a temporal paradox and the universe will implode!
