Though this appears to be an ordinary runaround through Mathcamp’s campus, it is in fact a runaround through Mathcamp’s website. Each clue tells you (somewhat cryptically) how to go to the next link. Explanations of the clues are below.

Start at Mathcamp headquarters. Walk down a green path until you see a four-digit number. Go towards it. — At the top of the Mathcamp website is a green navigation bar; you should click on 2019 to go to here.

Upon doing so, you will see the Lewis & Clark reflecting pool. To its left, you will see some directions. Follow them to continue. — In the left navigation bar, click on Directions.

After following the directions, you will see a numbered gate. Just beyond it, you will see the green path you started on. Go down the path the same number of signposts as the number on the gate. — The gate referred to is Entry Gate 5. On the same green navigation bar, follow the fifth link to here.

To the right, you should see a bridge with nine people on it. Far to the left, you will see a three-letter abbreviation. Go towards the abbreviation. — The only three-letter abbreviation on this page is FAQ.

Now, the road will fork into seven possible options for how to continue; take the final option. — The table of contents on this page has seven options, the seventh of which is Staying in Touch.

You should now see Portland right in front of you. Go past it, and past an approximation of pi, and you'll see a green baton. Go towards it. — After Mathcamp's mailing address (which includes the word Portland), there is the Mathcamp phone number (an approximation of pi), followed by a link to the staff.

At this point, you'll see some pictures of fruit on a white background. Go past all the fruit, to the very end of the white area, and you'll see yet another green baton. Go towards it. — The Mathcamp directors Marisa, Kevin, and Susan are collectively referred to as fruit. At the very bottom of the page is a link to the 2019 staff.

When you get to this location, you'll find two people trying to give you advice. As is often the case, the first is a truth-teller and the latter a liar, so approach the first. — This page mentions both academic and residential advisors. The first one mentioned is academic advisors.

Uh oh! Looks like things have gone a bit wrong. Nevertheless, you still see a green road you can follow. Take it until you see a red circle, and follow the first road directly after it. — This page gives a 404 error. However, the green navigation bar is still available, and it has a small red circle right before the word Alumni.

You'll encounter a snowy scene, and to its immediate left a list of important occasions. Go towards this list. — Follow the link to important dates and deadlines.

Take four steps to get to this point. Go past the well. The next word you see is the answer. — Under step four are the words “this point, we’ll”. The next word is ALERT, the answer.
